In connection with the crafting of the Proposed Draft Rules on Digital Assets Securities Service Providers (DASSP), ADB has generously provided a sponsored Capacity Building Workshop on Digital Assets aimed to help further inform the DASSP policy framework and scoping of parameters of regulation.
The Workshop is meant to provide a holistic overview of the digital assets ecosystem and further the DASSP Policy Framework. It takes a structured approach, aiming to establish an understanding of fundamental subject matters and then comprehensively expanding the topics to include the regulatory landscape and relevant use cases applicable to the different departments.
To ensure the workshop's success, participants are expected to actively participate and share their insights and related expertise, particularly in the areas catered by their represented departments. Participants are also expected to be tapped as experts in their respective fields to resolve policy issues in the DASSP and finalize the related rules (DASSPs).
At the end of the training, participants are expected and able to:
- Understand the technology and current market practice.
- Appreciate how Digital Assets, as a means to create a product, are a long-term trend affecting every industry—including an overview of its services and main points of difference to traditional finance.
- Explore optimal policy response in connection to the DASSPs.
Evaluate various considerations in facilitating market surveillance and enforcement, areas of risk and opportunity, market transparency, and supervisory data collection strategy.
